5 LGBT Blogs You Should Be Reading

Lauren Tonge

lgbt blog

I'm here to suggest 5 LGBT Blogs you should keep up with, not that you already don't have enough content to consume each day. These sites range from lesbian to gay to queer to everything in between. They cover LGBTQ news, celebrities, entertainment, political issues, even things like recipes and fashion. Enough of me blabbing about these sites, let's get into the list! Maybe you'll enjoy all 5, maybe you'll find that just 1 is your cup of tea. Whatever it is, I hope I can help you find a good source of LGBT goodness that you'll enjoy reading.

Autostraddle
Ladies of the queer persuasion, I'm talking to you (sorry fellas). Autostraddle is made by queer girls, for queer girls. The site was founded in March 2009, and "is an intelligent, hilarious & provocative voice and a progressively feminist online community for a new generation of kickass lesbian, bisexual & otherwise inclined ladies (and their friends)." Maybe you've heard of the site, but if you haven't you're in for a night of 5 hour scrolling through all their archived posts. The site has such a strong following they even host A Camp, an outdoor retreat for its readers to interact.

AfterEllen
In their own words, AfterEllen is a "pop culture site that plays for your team". They offer commentary of queer women in entertainment from Pretty Little Liars to Grey's Anatomy to Carol. You'll probably find tons of shows you never even knew had LGBTQ characters! (Trust me, I found some and had a great time binging hard). The site also talks about books, celebrties, and lifestyle.

Gayborhood App Blog
"The official blog to the unofficial app of everything LGBTQ". Here's a site for everyone under the LGBTQ rainbow. The app is like a directory for everything gay in your area. The blog is about everything gay everywhere! They'll talk about new movies or shows with gay themes or LGBTQ news.

Out
Out is one of the most popular gay magazines around. It's targeted at queer men and posts about everything from out sports stars to celebrities to fashion. Follow them on Facebook or Twitter to keep up with all their articles.

Queerty
Queerty is mainly known as a gay hub for articles and news. Recent posts include Zachary Quinto's Boyfriend, Longtime Equality Foe Antonin Scalia Found Dead At Texas Ranch, 27 Vintage Gay Couples Swooning For Their Valentines.
