Witches are fascinating. We’re a culture who has been obsessed with witches for years and years, leading all the way back to before the Salem Witch Trials. Aradia is no exception to this rule. Going back even further to the time of Atlantis, Aradia is a witch who knew she had a purpose, one of the most powerful witches around.
She grew up, learning to strengthen and harness her power, knowing she would have a purpose beyond anyone’s imagination. And she got it. She got her adventure, and she got far more than she ever bargained for, including love.
From the author:
Since the end of “Devil’s Dilemma”, the first novel in The Chosen Chronicles, I loved Gage Windsor. From the way he presented himself, to his back story, to the complexity of him. I loved everything about him. Getting to tell his story through “Devil’s Redemption” is an honor and privilege that I was excited to take on. Choosing to focus on Aradia, a character that little has been seen of so far, brought an element of the unknown that wasn’t present in “Despair” and that I think kept things interesting here.
Overall, in the course of the entire series, Gage and Aradia are two of my favorite characters. We have a strong and powerful witch who is learning to take control of both her present and her future and an ancient vampire struggling to maintain some semblance of humanity when faced with watching everyone he’s grown to love die. Together, I think they drive the plot of the series forward.
This book is a different tone than the other two. It’s slightly darker, due both to the characters I focus on and the plot. And even though Gage and Aradia are the main characters, the romantic leads, if you will, there are other undercurrents running through that I tried to foster and develop. If I did my job well, and I think I did, what you’ll find as a reader is a book filled with excitement, plot and character development, and different layers to keep you guessing from one page to the next. I loved writing this story, being able to craft and hone it to what it is today. I truly hope everyone who reads it enjoys going on the journey with me.
