School years can be a source of great memories—passing notes with friends, complaining about the cafeteria food, playing in the band or on the soccer team, and crushing on the hot new teacher. July 14, 2016 -- We're back from Washington DC after the Golden Crown Literary Society (GCLS) conference. GCLS is a celebration of lesbian literature and all the best publishers are there. Though we didn't sell many books in print, we had a great time.
P. Osito hung out at my table. Her poetry book, aptly titled "Pomes," comes out sometime next year, I hope. Alexa Black also dropped by. She writes brilliantly for our anthologies.
I saw the competition, Ylva and Regal Crest and Bella Books, all respected lesbian publishers, and they had great tables. Regal Crest was doing a book giveaway...
Lesbian Publisher Supposed Crimes Appearing Saturday at GCLS
Christy CaseI am representing Supposed Crimes at the Golden Crown Literary Society 2016 Annual Conference on Saturday. The GCLS is a non-profit dedicated to lesbian literature. Our guiding light in the lesbian publishing world. I'll be there on July 9 in the morning and afternoon selling books and shaking hands.
Alas, we aren't Golden Crown Literary Award finalists this year. Many of our friends are! We're cheering them on. As previous award winners, we can be gracious, right?

Why is Post-Apocalyptic Fiction So Popular?

Supposed Crimes has a reputation for posting bad-ass women in post-apocalyptic situations. Some are in domes. like in Under Dark Sky Law. Some are in the wilderness, like The Wolf Inside. Some are in tribes, like the upcoming Kai.
There are no zombies, yet.
Okay, The Wolf Inside sort of has zombies.
Why so popular? Besides our own work, we're also fans of The 100, The Last Ship, and Walking Dead. All three of these show feature heroines as lesbian or bisexual women at some point in their run. That is as appealing to our Supposed Crimes readers...
