We're a week into NaNoWriMo already. Whether you're a seasoned NaNo Pro or a shy newbie, I hope it's going well for you. You'll need time in between writing sessions to relax with a good book.
November's new releases are both filed under gay fiction, but they both stray from the usual expectations:
Walking by Faith, by A. M. Leibowitz, features a queer person of faith on a journey toward hope and healing. If you enjoy spiritual themes without the preaching, people who exist outside the gender binaries, and non-traditional love stories, maybe this one's for you.
Dan Ackerman's What Everyone Deserves is not your average vampire novel and certainly not your average romance. Instead, it's a blend of historical fiction and urban fantasy with a lot of depth and detail.
If you're looking for more books with spiritual/Christian/religious themes, here are some of our others:
- Adrian J. Smith's Spirit of Grace Series (For by Grace, Fallen from Grace, and Grace through Redemption) as well as the spin-off, Lost and Forsaken
- C. E. Case's The Riches of Mercy
- A.M. Leibowitz's Passing on Faith and Anthem
If you're more interested in vampires, you might like:
- Kaden Shay's Silver Linings and Angel Wings
- Adrian J. Smith's Unbound
And if you want a little of both, check out the post-apocalyptic series The Chosen Chronicles by Sirena Robinson:
- Devil's Dilemma
- Devil's Despair
- Devil's Redemption
- Devil's Salvation
- Nephilim Rising
- Nephil's Destruction
Happy reading!
